American Kestrels need your help!
For reasons not completely understood, kestrel populations have been steadily declining in many areas of North America. In an effort to better understand this unfortunate trend, the University of California Cooperative Extension (UCCE) has announced the Napa-Solano Kestrel Nest Box Initiative.
Rural & agricultural landowners & property managers can help by installing kestrel boxes, or adding your existing kestrel box to a network of boxes to be monitored long term.

Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza is in Napa County
Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI) was detected in California in July 2022. This virus is highly contagious and fatal to birds, affecting over 58 million birds in the US. As wildlife advocates, we can educate ourselves and others about best practices in biosecurity to slow the spread of HPAI.
